This gorgeous little hotel lies, hidden away in a small, busy village, in the heart of the Aravalli Hills, at the foot of a huge, granite rock. Surrounded by forested hills and rocky outcrops, the area is reminiscent of a Rajasthan that few see today and is in one of the most beautiful parts of the state.

Being so close to Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh, it is the perfect stopping off point on a journey between Jodhpur and Udaipur and could not be more rewarding. Rawla Narlai is a delightful 17th century property which was once a favourite hunting lodge of the Jodhpur Royal Family. It is still owned by members of the Jodhpur family who have invested vast amounts of time, money, love and care into restoring this little gem. Over the years it has transformed from a simple lodge into a stunning, stylish boutique hotel – albeit with all its original character and structure retained. The rooms are scattered all around the property and each varies significantly in shape, size and décor. There are also some fine, contemporary tents in the garden by the pretty swimming pool.

Rawla Narlai remains charmingly small, tasteful and immensely calm - arriving here, to be greeted by your affable host, is like reaching a refreshing oasis. There are gardens and verandahs for resting on and nearby is a lake which is lovely to walk around and picnic beside, watching the birds. The beautiful stepwell is then perfect for a romantic dinner under the stars!
